Nuanced. with Aaron Pete

A podcast that challenges polarization with real conversations, fresh perspectives, and fearless curiosity.

Hosted by Aaron Pete, the show explores complex issues through thoughtful interviews and personal commentary. In addition to hosting guests, Aaron will increasingly share his own perspectives and conduct deep dives into the political, cultural, and societal topics shaping our time. Each 60–75 minute episode features a diverse range of voices — from journalists, politicians, and authors to individuals with controversial or underrepresented views. The goal is simple: ask better questions, embrace complexity, and create space for nuanced conversations rarely heard elsewhere.

About the Podcast

From Bigger Than Me to Nuanced — A Journey of Growth, Curiosity, and Real Conversation

The podcast began in March 2020, when Aaron Pete and his partner Rebekah launched The Bigger Than Me Podcast with a simple but powerful goal: to create space for long-form, in-person conversations with entrepreneurs, leaders, and change-makers. What started at a kitchen table with close friends, professors, and local business owners quickly grew into something much bigger.

In 2021, Aaron expanded the scope of the podcast, interviewing authors, artists, Indigenous leaders, and community voices. He released a mini-series on "How to Start a Business," and the guest list grew with each episode.

By 2022, the show found its rhythm. Aaron recorded more episodes than the previous two years combined — interviewing biologists, journalists, legal experts, UFC fighters, and musicians. Rebekah revamped the branding and took over social media, helping the podcast reach new audiences. Even when Aaron’s home was flooded, the podcast didn’t stop — thanks to support from Tim McAlpine, who opened the doors to Studio C at Cowork Chilliwack.

That partnership marked a new chapter. In 2023, the podcast moved into Studio C full-time with Tim as producer. Aaron released high-quality video interviews and celebrated his 100th episode with a live event. The guest list continued to diversify — featuring Indigenous entrepreneurs, emotional intelligence experts, political commentators, and scientists.

2024 marked a breakout year. Interviews with Kris Sims, Candice Malcolm, and Vassy Kapelos drew tens of thousands of views. Live events began selling out. And conversations with Provincial Premiers, policy makers, and national thought leaders helped push the show into a new realm.

Why the Rebrand?

The name Bigger Than Me reflected the podcast’s origins — personal growth, humble beginnings, and a desire to platform inspiring voices. But as the show evolved, so did its purpose.

Aaron found himself leaning into harder questions, controversial topics, and deeper ideological divides — always with an open mind and a steady tone. The name Nuanced better reflects what the podcast has become: a space for thoughtful, long-form, courageous conversations on complicated issues.

This isn’t a pivot — it’s a progression. Nuanced, with Aaron Pete is the natural evolution of a show rooted in curiosity, maturity, and the belief that the most important conversations are the hardest ones to have.
